The days are getting longer and we’re seeing warm sunshine again in the Salt Lake Valley. Despite a few snowy days here and there, you can practically smell the fresh greens in the air just waiting for us to get back out on the course. In the spirit of opening day coming up, we’ve put together a list of our 5 favorite courses in and around the Salt Lake area.
1 - Mountain Dell Golf Course
Located a few miles up Parley’s Canyon, Mountain Dell Golf Course is a premier public course with a beautiful natural environment. Golfers can enjoy 9 or 18 hole days between all 36 holes the course boasts. If you’re lucky, you may even spot the abundant wildlife throughout your time there.
2 - Nibley Golf Course
The Nibley Golf Course is Utah’s first public golf course! With historic, pre-pioneer planted trees along the fairways and beautiful mountain views, this course is a must for any Salt Lake native.
3 - Stonebridge Golf Club
As the most water-laden course in the state, Stonebridge offers golfers unique conditions every time they visit. With three unique 9-hole courses and plenty of space, this course offers a serene, challenging escape from the day-to-day.
4 - Thanksgiving Point Golf Club
Considered one of the top 5 golf courses in Utah by Golf magazine, Thanksgiving Point offers golfers the unique Ashton Gardens backdrop intermingled with a mountain-dessert surrounding. It’s a perfect setting for both professionals and novices looking to enjoy all the beauty Utah has to offer in one spot.
5 - Fore Lakes Golf Course
With multiple courses and options for a quick game or a full 18-hole day, Fore Lakes offers Salt Lake residents a great venue for improving their golf game and enjoying the Wasatch Mountain backdrop.

6 - The Bonneville Golf Course
A favorite among the Simplicity staff, the currently closed Bonneville course is a gem in the Utah golf world. At almost 100 years old, the course offers up beautiful, natural scenery and a peaceful play experience. While closed until further notice, we’re excited to see it open again in the future!
